For over four decades, the Open Pantry at Bethany Lutheran Church has provided food, hygiene items and hope to more than 800 Lemont families. We can’t continue to do it without you! Drop off non-perishable, non-expired items at the church office Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30am-12:30pm.
Each year community members donate an array of school supplies so that Lemont children in need can start off the year right!
*No- salt and gluten-free items are appreciated as some of the pantry clients have dietary restrictions.
We have an abundance of canned vegetables, cereal, dried pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, canned chili and canned pasta (Chef Boyardee, etc.)
All purpose cleaners
Personal Care Items
Women's hygiene products
The Open Pantry has a variety of volunteer opportunities including:
Shopping for groceries (funds provided)
Receiving donations during off-hours
Inventory quality assurance (expiration date checkers)
Pantry shelf stockers
Publicity assistants (letter-writing to potential donors, short presentations to local organizations)
Just a few hours of your time each month will help the Open Pantry run smoothly. If you'd like more info or if you would like to volunteer, call Marge McLaughlin at the church office (630-257-7953) OR complete the form below.
